Cryodynamics is proud to be recognized as the foremost producer of submersible pumps and expanders for the ever-growing liquefied gas industries. Recently exceeding 6,500 units installed aboard LNG carriers and land-based installations, Cryodynamics is represented at the vast majority of LNG operations in liquefaction, marine transport, and re-gasification applications.
Cryodynamics submerged motor generators are designed to operate in non-conductive liquefied gases, eliminating rotating seals and all associated concerns. Sharing a single shaft with the pump or turbine element, alignment and safety are ensured as the unit is segregated from hazardous classified areas.
Suction vessel mounted pumps (Model ECC) are used as single-stage transfer pumps or multi-stage for vaporizer feed and send-out service.
Model ECR retractable units are designed for LNG storage tank installations via columns that contain the pump and provide a discharge. The pump weight opens a spring-loaded suction valve. This allows a system for pump removal from a loaded tank with the column being safely inerted.
In addition to Cryogenic pumps, Cryodynamics expanders exemplify our drive for advancing LNG process technology and productivity. These machines directly produce approximately 8% increased plant output while generating substantial electricity as a peripheral benefit. These innovative machines, recently advanced for both single-phase (liquid) and two-phase (gas/liquid) applications, can also be provided with variable speed technology. Our client-partners have worked closely with us to optimize performance and reliability to reap the outstanding results of this technology. Cryodynamics expanders are becoming the specified standard in LNG production trains around the world.
